This past Saturday I was at a sweet 16 party, taking pictures. A friend of the family had asked me weeks in advance if I could take pictures. I showed up with a band new tripod (a cheap tripod at RadioShack which is pretty good) and walked into the wrong party which was going on next door. After everyone ate I began taking pictures of the birthday girl with her family and friends, then when she cut the cake. The hard part came when she was dancing, first trying to time my shot just right so I don't get a hand in her face or her making a wierd face, second they also had someone recording everything so I tried to respect him and not be in his shots. I took a total of about 250 pictures, and about half were keepers. It was a fun learning experience. Before I left I was asked if I was interested in photographing a wedding in November, I'm waiting for a call to confirm so that will be nice to do if it happens.
